A nice trail near the Abuls river, starts at the Jaunaraji commercial camground. A good picnic spot is available on the way, near the river. Follow the signs to "Baili" from Valmiera city. Keep following signs until you see another sign for Jaunaraji. You can safely enter the campgrounds and park somewhere out of the way, the owner is friendly and allows to pass here, especially if you introduce yourself as a trail visitor.
