A roughly 1 km nature path leads through forest to the edge of Oleru Mire in the North Vidzeme Biosphere Reserve. Here you can see classic peatland plants—sedges and cotton‑grasses in open lawns, cranberries in season, and mirror‑like pools dotted with water‑lilies. Dragonflies and damselflies are common on warm days, and cranes may be heard calling in the distance. Surfaces can be damp; waterproof footwear is useful outside dry spells. The quiet of the mire makes this a rewarding short walk for nature lovers of all ages.
