Mežotnes pilskalns ir izveidots Lielupes kreisajā krastā, iepretim Mežotnes pilij un to aizsargā 8 metrus augsts valnis un aizsarggrāvis. Tas uzskatāms par vienu no lielākajiem seno zemgaļu nocietinājumiem, kurš mūsdienās izvēlēts par izcilāko vietu Mežotnes pilskalna svētku svinēšanai maija trešajā sestdienā. Leģenda vēsta, ka šeit esot atradusies zemgaļu osta.
Mežotnes pilskalnu ar Vīna kalnu savieno laipu taka, kas ved gar Lielupes senlejas krastu.
Mežotnes pilskalnu ar Mežotnes pili no maija līdz oktobrim savieno pontonu tiltiņš, kas izveidots pāri Lielupei – tas ļauj vēl vienkāršāk sasniegt abos upes krastos sev vietu atradušos objektus.
SEGUMS Grantēts celiņš, koka laipas un kāpnes. Ziemā taka netiek tīrīta. Lietus laikā un ziemā segums var būt slidens.

Mežotne Castle Hill is located on the left bank of the Lielupe River, opposite Mežotne Castle, and is protected by an 8-meter-high rampart and a moat. It is considered one of the largest ancient Semigallian fortifications, which today has been chosen as the most outstanding place to celebrate Mežotne Hill Fort Festival on the third Saturday in May. Legend has it that a Semigallian port was located here.
Mežotne Hillfort is connected to Vīna Hill by a footbridge that runs along the banks of the ancient Lielupe River valley.
From May to October, Mežotne Hillfort is connected to Mežotne Castle by a pontoon bridge over the Lielupe River, making it even easier to reach the sites located on both banks of the river.
SURFACE Paved path, wooden footbridges and stairs. The trail is not cleared in winter. The surface may be slippery in rainy weather and in winter.
