Pagriežoties no Kolkasraga uz līča pusi, manāma atšķirība starp „Dižjūru” un „Mazjūru”. Jūrtakas pirmie 10 km ved pa Slīteres nacionālā parka piekrasti: sākumā gar jūrā ieskalotajām priedēm, gar kādreizējām zvejas kolhoza ēkām, kuģu piestātni un Ēvažu stāvkrastu, kura apkaimē ir neparasti šaurs, smilšains liedags ar tam pāri līkstošiem melnalkšņiem. Arī tālākajā posmā līdz Ģipkai raksturīgs šaurs, smilšains liedags ar bagātīgo avoksnāju veidotām lāmām un nelielu, vasarā – seklu upīšu ietekām. Slīteres krasts kādreiz bija divkārt slēgta teritorija – te bija pierobežas režīma zona un dabas rezervāts. Lībiešu valodā Kolka senais nosaukums Kūolka, Melnsils / Mustānum un Ģipka / Gipk.
Turning from Kolkasrags towards the bay, the difference between “Dižjūra” and “Mazjūra” is noticeable. The first 10 km of the Jurtakas run along the coast of the Slītere National Park: at the beginning, along the pine trees washed into the sea, past the former buildings of the fishing collective farm, the ship dock and the steep shore of Ēvaži, which has an unusually narrow, sandy beach with alder trees creeping over it. The stretch to Ģipka is also characterised by a narrow, sandy beach with lagoons formed by the abundant avocado trees and the mouths of small, shallow rivers in summer. The Slītere coast used to be a double closed area - it was a border zone and a nature reserve. In the Livonian language, Kolka is called Kūolka, Melnsils / Mustānum and Ģipka / Gipk.
