Užava lighthouse is located at the nature reserve "Užava". It is a state protected cultural monument. The lighthouse is 21m high and it was built in 1879. It is located on a 28m high dune near the beach. The height above the sea level is 44m and it opens one of the most spectacular views on the whole Baltic Sea Kurzeme coast. Each lighthouse has it's specific light. This one lights up twice in 10 seconds. In 1970-ies the coast was fortified with concrete blocks, which distinguish the lighthouse coastline up until nowadays. There is a parking lot and a nice resting area near the lighthouse on the sea coast with picnic tables, fireplace sites and a dry WC. The entrance into the lighthouse costs 70 cents for adults and 30 cents for children.
